Bio

Dan Potruch has been a working drummer in Los Angeles since 1986. He’s a graduate of the acclaimed Musicians Institute in Hollywood, California, as well as studying with some of music’s finest musicians and teachers including Greg Bissonette, Alex Acuna, Luis Conte, David Garibaldi and Richard Wilson.

In the mid 80s, Potruch worked with Jazz artists Tony Guerrero, Doug Webb, Brian Bromberg and Deron Johnson, of Miles Davis fame, as well as host of R&B and Blues artists including Guitar Shorty and Joe Houston and Kevin Moore - A.K.A.- Keb Mo. Through the 90s, Dan toured and recorded with Mark Lindsay, original lead singer of Paul Revere and the Raiders and also joined the band Blue by Nature, featuring Rick Dufay - former guitarist for Aerosmith (1981-’84) Famed producer Jack Douglas produced all three of their releases.

Dan Potruch’s other credits include Slack Jaw Blues Band, Chromosapien, Peter Stuart, The Januaries, Garrison Starr, The Canyon Band, Peter Walker, Edgar Winter, Joel Rafael, Carlos Guitarlos, Danielle Evin and Nya Jade.

Potruch has played for many other recording sessions for Jack Douglas.

Jack Says, “Dan is one of my secret weapons in the studio.”

Former Capitol Records President/Producer Andy Slater includes Potruch in his Neil Young tribute group called “Ragged Glory,” He’s also performed on various film soundtracks at Beacon Street Studios including The Bachelorette and Anchorman II, and Casa De Mi Padre. Dan also performed with Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry on The Tonight Show - LINK HERE

Dan continues to stay very busy in and around Los Angeles with his Band “Uncle Duane’s Band” Formerly The Disreputable Few, who recently performed with Bob Weir (Grateful Dead)
